Chess games are good to help you learn and to explore moves that lead potentially to a different outcome. This section provides a list of featured chess games selected from BYCA members' matches.

BYCA members are encouraged to record their games. This helps to control the speed of play and also allows you to review your game afterwards. You will then be able to see what moves were played well and those where a different move may have been better.

Additionally they may be included here to illustrate to others good or sometimes not so good play!

  • Sample PGN game Deep Blue v Kasparov 1997 - the rematch  (single game without commentary)

  • Sample PGN game Karpov v Kasparov  (single game with commentary)

  • This sample has been added to try out the PGN viewer.  If this is successful, then further games will be made available and our featured games will be placed in the same format as well as including commentary.  Just click the autoplay button or move buttons to navigate through the match.  You can go directly to a position by clicking on the move itself on the right handside.  A downloadable PGN file is also provided.  You can also continue the game or move pieces.  Just drag and drop the pieces (note there is no checking of the validity of moves).  Step into variations can be seen in the third sample.
