Results and final positions Round Pairings and Results Crosstable The Bucks Primary Schools U8 Individual Championships took place at Holmer Green First School during February on Thursdays 5th, 12th and 26th. The event was won by Briony Brock who scored a full 5/5. Second was Callum Blackburn (4½/5), and third Tejpal Panesar (4/5) . Alex Eaton, Charlie Basham and Charlie Henderson all scored 4/5 but missed out on tie break. A very good result for Charlie Basham who is playing two years below the main players. Well done to all those who took part. Attendance was limited to 32 players on each day with the first round, which will be a qualifying round, intended to boost the confidence of the less experienced players. Players will be seeded taking into account the School's grading of its entry and past performances of the schools in the event. The top seeds will not play in the first round. The Jenkins Newman Partnership, Estate Agents, will sponsor the event, and therefore there will be no entry fee this season. There will be two rounds on each day between 16:00 and 17:30. No refreshments will be provided. Entries will be accepted up to the 24th January 2004. Schools should list players in order of decreasing playing strength, and the sex and date of birth of all group or individual entrants must be stated.
